Using the handheld onscreen keyboard, SPOT offers you the optional ability to send messages to your contacts via SMS, Facebook and/or Twitter – all from virtually anywhere on Earth!

SPOT Satellite Messenger’s SOS Distress Button

Included in the SPOT Basic Service Plan is the incredibly important SOS distress button service. In the event that you find yourself in a dangerous situation and need to be rescued, all you have to do is press the SOS button on the SPOT Satellite Messenger and an alert will be sent to the Geos International Emergency Coordination Rescue Center. Open 24/7/365, they will relay your coordinates to the appropriate local rescue authorities.

Help and Check-in/OK Buttons

Additional features include the ability to reassure pre-programmed contacts that you are alright by hitting the Check-in/OK button or to convey your need of assistance (to those same contacts), by pressing the Help button.

Optional Real Time GPS Tracking with Track Progress

One of the many additional services offered by SPOT is Track Progress. This allows your family or friends to follow your travels across the world in real-time.  The device broadcasts ten-minute location updates, enabling friends to watch your movements on a customized Google Map.

Share Your Travelling Information Using SPOT Adventures

Included in the basic annual plan is the ability to share your progress on a Live Map, create adventures and add photos and stories. You can also use this GPS technology to Geotag and Geocache your discoveries and share them with all your friends.

Multiple Customizable Mapping Options

The DVDs included with the Delorme Earthmate w/ SPOT Satellite Messenger contain detailed topographical and street maps that can easily be uploaded onto your device. You can plan and prepare trips on your PC and then transfer them over using the included USB cable. Many additional mapping packages are available via the online Map Library.
